All DECF Services unavailable 06/26/08, 7PM-7AM
To all DECF users
On Thursday, Physical Plant will be shutting down power for the entire
Etcheverry Building for maintenance. This scheduled outtage will be
from 8PM Thursday to 6AM Friday. We will need to turn off all of our
servers during this time.
Since it takes time to turn on and off the servers, DECF services will
be unavailable from 7PM Thursday night to 7AM Friday. Based on our
experience during the last maintenance, it may take longer to turn
some of the servers back on. We will post updates on the electrical
shutdown on our website: http://www.decf.berkeley.edu/ You should be
able to see it as soon as the web server comes up.
ALL DECF servers/services are affected, these include:
o Mail server , including Webmail
o 1171, 1111 Etcheverry computers and printers (unavailable from 6PM Thursday night)
o all Web servers (Departmental as well as research/group web servers)
o Licenses server (abaqus, matlab, patran, mathematica, etc)
If you're running computation on our clusters, please make sure that
they finish running by 6PM Thursday night.
