Transferring files from Digital Camera


WINDOWS
These simply steps are quick and easy. Get all your photos onto disk in no time!
  • Plug the ZIO SmartMedia reader into the USB port. Click on "My Computer" and you should see icon for the reader.
  • Open "My Documents in a seperate window. Drag and drop the files into "My Documents. Your files have just been transfered to your home directory.
  • From here you can print, send, or edit these images in Adobe Photoshop. Hit "Back" on your browser to view tips for editing with Photoshop

LINUX
  • First, put your Smart Media disk into the ZIO Smart Media reader.
  • Plug the USB cable into the USB port in front of your Linux workstation. You may have to push up the door near the bottom of the workstation.
  • Click on Redhat Menu -> Utilities -> Disk Management
  • Highlight /dev/sda1 /mnt/flash auto
  • Click on Mount. You will see a flash icon on your desktop.
  • Double click on the flash icon.
  • Double click on the dcim folder.
  • Double click on the "100olymp" folder.
  • To move the files to your home directory, double click on the "username's Home" Icon on the desktop.
  • Drag and drop the pictures.
  • You can now use tools such as GIMP (Located under Redhat Menu -> Graphics -> Gimp) to edit your file.
  • You MUST UNMOUNT the disk before you pop it out!
