Transferring files from Digital Camera
WINDOWS
These simply steps are quick and easy. Get all your photos onto disk in no time!
- Plug the ZIO SmartMedia reader into the USB port. Click on "My Computer" and you should see icon for the reader.
- Open "My Documents in a seperate window. Drag and drop the files into "My Documents. Your files have just been transfered to your home directory.
- From here you can print, send, or edit these images in Adobe Photoshop. Hit "Back" on your browser to view tips for editing with Photoshop
LINUX
- First, put your Smart Media disk into the ZIO Smart Media reader.
- Plug the USB cable into the USB port in front of your Linux workstation. You may have to push up the door near the bottom of the workstation.
- Click on Redhat Menu -> Utilities -> Disk Management
- Highlight /dev/sda1 /mnt/flash auto
- Click on Mount. You will see a flash icon on your desktop.
- Double click on the flash icon.
- Double click on the dcim folder.
- Double click on the "100olymp" folder.
- To move the files to your home directory, double click on the "username's Home" Icon on the desktop.
- Drag and drop the pictures.
- You can now use tools such as GIMP (Located under Redhat Menu -> Graphics -> Gimp) to edit your file.
- You MUST UNMOUNT the disk before you pop it out!
