UNIX Documentation
There are three main sources of help/documentation on UNIX commands
available to you through the DECF:
- UNIX man pages. Most commands on machines running UNIX have
documentation in the form of "man" (manual) pages.
To see this information,
for example information on the "lpr" command, type: "man lpr"
at the prompt. For more information on how to use the "man" command,
type "man man".
- The following books are available in the back of 1111 Etcheverry Hall:
- Teach Yourself UNIX in a Week
- Learning HTML
- Learning UNIX
- AutoCAD Manuals
- Postscript Reference Manual
- Basic help can be found in DECF handouts.
