4. The file server will be main file server for 1111 Etch, 1171 Etch, and kepler.berkeley.edu
5. 100MB mail disk quota will be implemented in Fall 2005.


Explanation of Terms

Soft quota The amount of disk space that has been allocated to your account. You're allowed to exceed it for 7 days, up to your hard quota. Within those 7 days, you should delete some files to clear up some space, else your account will be disabled after those 7 days. If your account is disabled, please see a lab assistant or email consult@newton.berkeley.edu
Hard quota The absolute maximum disk space that you may use.
MB Short for Megabyte. 1024K (Kilobyte) = 1 MB. To convert K to MB, just take off the last three digits of any number. For example, 60000K is approximately 60MB
GB Short for Gigabyte. 1024MB = 1 GB.
