Eudora (Windows) Mail Relay

  1. Make sure you're running Eudora 6.x or later. To find out what version of Eudora you're running, choose About Eudora from the Help menu
  2. From the Specials menu, choose Settings. A Settings window will pop up.
  3. Under Getting Started tab, make sure the following is set: Real Name: your-real-name (e.g., Arthur Dent) SMTP Server: relay.decf.berkeley.edu Email Address: your-DECF-username (e.g., adent)
  4. Click on Sending Mail icon on the left, make sure the following is set: SMTP Server: relay.decf.berkeley.edu Allow authorization: CHECKED
  5. Click on SSL icon on the left, make sure the following is set: SSL for SMTP: Required (TLS) If you're using SBC DSL or other ISPs and mail does not go through then you need to use an alternate port: SSL for SMTP: Required, Alternate Port
  6. Click on Miscellaneous icon on the left, make sure the following is set: Use system keychain to store passwords: CHECKED
  7. Click OK
