Eudora Mail Relay
Eudora (Macs) Mail Relay
If you are running Mac OS 9.0 through 9.2.2, you must first
create at least one Keychain. This is REQUIRED for Eudora to be able
to connect securely.
- Select Control Panels from the Apple menu.
- Open the Keychain Access control panel.
- If an "Unlock Keychain" dialog box (or a dialog box containing
those words) appears, then you already have a Keychain defined. Enter
your name and password to unlock your Keychain.
- If the "Create Keychain" dialog box (or a dialog box containing
those words) appears, click "Create" (if that button appears), enter a
name, password, and confirmation password and click OK.
Setup
- From the Special menu, click on Settings
- Click on Sending Mail icon on the left, make sure the following is set:
SMTP Server: relay.decf.berkeley.edu
Allow authorization: CHECKED
- Click on SSL icon in the left pane, fill in the following:
SSL for POP: leave as is.
SSL for SMTP: Required (Alternate Port)
SSL for IMAP: leave as is.
- Scroll up the left pane and click on Miscellaneous icon.
Make sure:
Use system keychain to store passwords: Checked
- Click OK
- Check mail, enter your NEWTON password when prompted.
- A "Unknown SSL Certificate" window will pop up. To add this
certificate to your keychain, click Open.
- Check Add to KeyChain. Select Always Trust in the
pull down menu. Click OK . Click Done
- Now you can check mail again.
- To view your list of mailboxes, from the Window menu, choose
Mailboxes. You will see your mailboxes on the left of the
screen, under <Dominant>
