    Beginning Spring 2005, the 1171 lab is open 8AM-6PM. If you want to get access after hours, see instructions on cardkey access.

    Access to Linux machines:
    From 1171 Etch & 1111 Etch, or any of DECF's servers: ssh to the clients directlry.
    From off campus, ssh to kepler.berkeley.edu first.

    Lab Schedule

    The labs can be reserved for class use. Look under "Class lab schedules" in the left toolbar on our homepage for schedules and instructions.

  • 21 Precision T3400 Workstations (Intel Core 2 Quad, 2GB RAM)
  • 3 Precision Workstation 370n donated by Intel in 2004 (Intel Pentium 4, 1GB RAM)
  • 2 Black & White HP Laserjet printers
  • Servers

  • kepler.berkeley.edu - 1171 Linux cluster server
  • maxwell.berkeley.edu - mail server
  • Clients

    Check Client Status

    Workstations in the 1171 Linux Cluster (machinename.decf.berkeley.edu). Most are Precision T3400 unless specified. You MUST log into a DECF server before you can ssh to these machines!
